  The Crown Inn Restaurant - Snape

This is a great favourite of ours. Lovely old pub which is really more of a restaurant with a small bar, that's really more of a restaurant than bar. Situated on the main Snape road. Excellent steaks and a good range of international cuisine from rack of lamb to thai curry. Fantastic puddings to finish off the evening.

Getting there :

Only 15 minutes away. Turn right in Sudbourne and follow the road to Snape, joing the main road and over the bridge. The Crown is on the right hand side just as you come in to Snape.
  The Plough and Sail pub/restaruant - Snape

This recently refurbished pub/restaurant, is especially convenient if you're walking, shopping or concert going at the Maltings. Modern and spacious decor, the food is good, with local seafood available and there is decent bar drinking space and a room with comfy sofas for lazy afternoons reading the paper.

  The Crown & Castle Restaurant - Orford

For those looking for an upmarket restaurant nearby, this place serves excellent food and has a good wine list, with main courses at around £15.00 - £20.

Turn left in Sudbourne and drive into Orford, just beyond the Kings Head pub turn right in the town square where you can park. The Crown is on the left just before the small lane which takes you to the Castle.
  The Kings Head Pub - Orford

Local pub, serving good pub grub, such as Whitebait, sausages and mash, fish and chips. Selection of local ales. Restaurant area and bar sitting with dining area

  Butley Oysterage - Orford

For those who love their seafood, especially crabs and oysters, this is the place for you. What started as a little café that sold oysters and cups of tea has become a large, bustling, no-nonsense restaurant. It still specializes in oysters and smoked salmon, as well as smoked seafood platters and seasonal fish dishes. The actual smoking takes place in the adjacent smokehouse, products are for sale in a shop around the corner. Main courses £3.90-£14.50

  Butley Oyster Pub - Butley

Cosy little pub. Good locals hangout. The Oyster at Butley has a longstanding reputation for its friendly family atmosphere. Serves a good range of food including bar food. Local fish is a speciality. Restaurant. Children welcome.

Getting there :

Turn left in Sudbourne and drive towards Orford. At the "5 ways" road junction turn right as if driving towards Woodbridge. Stay on this road for 5 minutes, driving through Chillesford and then into Butley. The pub is on the left hand side, turn left just before and then their car park is immediatley on your right.




  The Lighthouse restaurant - Aldeburgh

Fish generally takes precedence, but the seasonal menu will includes meat, poultry and vegetarian options. Some of the many specialities include Aldeburgh Asparagus (only in season), Fresh Crab, Skate Wings and Dover Sole but everything changes and everything is fresh. The special desert they call 'Wicked bread and butter pudding' as this traditional English dish is enlivened with a good shot of scotch AFTER cooking.

  Cafe 152 restaurant - Aldeburgh

Open from 10am you can enjoy freshly ground coffee accompanied by a selection of organic pastries. For lunch and dinner they offer a short seasonal ala carte menu and a set price menu through to a complete dinner menu, including locally sourced seafood wherever possible.

Another good restaurant in Aldeburgh for local seafood and general cuisine.

  Golden Galleon Fish and Chips & Aldeburgh Fish & Chips Restaurant

These two fisah and chips shops, sell by far the best locally and a situated just down the high street from one another in Aldeburgh.
